The White  Plains Plainsmen

The White Plains Plainsmen Youth Hockey program has been in existence in White Plains for more than 50 years. It was the first and is the longest running hockey program in the Hudson Valley.

We are a USA Hockey affiliated organization based at Ebersole Ice Rink. Thousands of children from White Plains and surrounding areas have learned the basics of how to skate in our developmental program.  Many go on to learn the game of hockey and excel through the collegiate level.

The Plainsmen strive to promote self-esteem and good sportsmanship through skill development in a positive, enjoyable and safe environment.  Children from 4 to 18 years of age are encouraged to participate in the program.

Sign up today at the White Plains Department of Recreation.  Please contact us if you have any questions.

Letter from the President of the Plainsmen Association:

Attention All Plainsmen Parents and Players:

Plainsmen tryouts for the 2012-2013 season will be held at Ebersole April 2, 3 & 4.

Please see the attached flyer for the specific information regarding tryouts for next season.

All players that will be playing at the Squirt level and above must tryout during this time period.

These are mandatory tryouts run by the City of White Plains Recreation Department and all players are required to attend all 3 days.

Players that do not attend these tryouts will have to tryout at a later date before being placed on a team, regardless of where they played in the program this past season. That later date can be as late as October when the rink reopens. We are planning to try to start playing away games next season in September, and would like to have our teams set and registered with both USA Hockey and the Hudson Valley Hockey League by this August.

If you have an issue with the dates and times, please contact me before March 25. Even if you have verbally informed me, please contact me again via email at rmyers711@optonline.net.

If you have any friends or relatives that might be interested in playing hockey for the Plainsmen, please forward them this info as well. All are welcome.

We will be having some "moving up" practices next week where the players will practice for the level they will be trying out for.  More info to follow.

See you at the rink,

Rich Myers
